We’re excited to share our Look Good Feel Better 2023-2024 Impact Report, showcasing our support for New Zealanders facing cancer challenges. This past year marked our first full 12 months of an expanded programme offering online and in-community wellbeing classes designed to help participants regain a sense of normalcy, confidence and community.
As our General Manager, Clare O’Higgins, states, “It is important that we continuously evolve to meet the needs of anyone with cancer.” The 2023-2024 year has been pivotal as we fully launched our combined online and in-community classes, reinforcing our commitment to non-medical cancer wellbeing support.
The impact of our work is evident: 99% of participants would recommend Look Good Feel Better, and 95% report high satisfaction with our programme. Behind these numbers are countless personal stories from individuals who feel seen, understood and connected. One participant shared, “What you thought was your world just automatically stops. I was sad, lonely, and scared. Look Good Feel Better was an amazing source of confidence. It absolutely changed my cancer experience.”
We’re proud to be the only charity in New Zealand providing non-medical, practical wellbeing support for people at any stage of their cancer journey. Our sessions offer essential moments of empowerment, helping participants reconnect with themselves and others.
We also acknowledge the generosity of our supporters who make this programme possible. While our sessions are free for participants, they are not cost-free. Donations from corporate partners, trusts, foundations and individuals ensure that we can continue providing these vital services for free. “With their help the programme remains free and participants gain strength, confidence and a sense of normalcy and control. Thank you to all those who help make a real difference to those who need it.”
