When a woman is diagnosed with cancer, the impact can be overwhelming. Confronted with questions, medical decisions and uncertainty, as well as the traumatic physical changes in appearance that may occur with treatment, gaining a sense of control is often difficult.
Free Feel Better Classes cover simple techniques to look after skin, hair, body and mind so that women can feel stronger and face cancer with confidence. For anyone undergoing treatment for any type of cancer at any stage.
During Feel Better Classes volunteer beauty professionals share their skills and knowledge of how to take care and enhance people’s appearance and challenges they may face due to the side effects of cancer treatment, using products generously donated by the cosmetic industry in New Zealand.
Look Good Feel Better is reliant on the generosity of volunteer beauty professionals to ensure the ongoing success of Feel Better Classes in over 40 local communities across NZ.
Being A Volunteer
Since 1992, thousands of volunteers have offered their time and skills to LGFB. Volunteers are essential to the continued success of Look Good Feel Better NZ.
By joining the LGFB volunteer team you’ll be impacting the lives of thousands of women across New Zealand, helping them regain their confidence and sense of self. Class participants, who are undergoing cancer treatment, gain tremendous benefit from the beauty expertise our volunteers bring to Feel Better Classes.
All volunteers are important, not just in Feel Better Classes, but also in other areas of the organisation. Whether you are a salon professional, or simply a caring individual, there may be a local Look Good Feel Better volunteer opportunity for you.
We are currently taking applications for volunteers in Rotorua and Wellington. Full induction and training will be provided.
